This Privacy Policy describes how Spoolr ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use spoolr.net and any associated mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). Spoolr is an independent, individually developed project.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the Service. The categories of data we collect are:

We do not collect payment card numbers, bank account details, or any sensitive financial information directly. All payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe (see Section 4).

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

Providing the Service
Storing and displaying your spool inventory, usage history, and analytics across all your devices.
Authentication
Verifying your identity via email/password or Google OAuth so only you can access your data.
Subscription Management
Processing payments, activating Pro features, and managing billing through Stripe.
Label Scanning (Optional)
If you use the AI label scanning feature, photos are sent to Google Gemini for analysis and then discarded. This feature requires your explicit action.
Service Improvement
Monitoring aggregate usage patterns and error logs to identify bugs and improve performance.
Communication
Sending transactional emails such as account confirmation, password reset, and billing receipts.

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase, a managed cloud platform. Supabase infrastructure is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

We implement the following security measures to protect your data:

While we take security seriously, no internet transmission or cloud storage system is completely immune to risk. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your account credentials private.

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers. Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how they handle the data they receive.

We select these providers carefully and only share data with them to the extent necessary to operate the Service. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser storage mechanisms only for the purpose of operating the Service — not for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics). You can clear local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out of the Service.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete your account and all associated data — including your spool inventory, usage history, photos, and settings — within 30 days of your request.

Note on backups: Deleted data may persist in encrypted database backups for up to 30 additional days before those backups are automatically purged. Data in backups cannot be accessed or restored for individual accounts.

Certain data may be retained for longer periods when required by law (for example, records related to financial transactions may be retained for tax and legal compliance purposes). Stripe retains payment records according to their own retention policies and applicable financial regulations.

Your Rights

You have meaningful control over your data. At any time, you may exercise the following rights by contacting us at hello@spoolr.net:

No Selling of Data

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal data to any third party under any circumstances. Your data exists solely to provide you with the Spoolr service.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing platforms. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not participate in behavioral advertising networks.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@spoolr.net and we will promptly delete the information.

If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, please review this policy with a parent or guardian before creating an account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our data practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, by sending an email to your registered address or displaying a notice within the application. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
